Rhythm, Fire
& Passion
Born in the beautiful town of La Paz de Chame in the
Republic of Panama, Jossie Córdoba has gained the love
and admiration of fans with her exotic looks and unique
voice. She has charmed the Latin music world and beyond
with a combination of Latin rhythms that make the single
“Tequila y Ron” (Tequila and Rum) from her new CD, Nada
Normal (Nothing Normal) a hit.
Her passion for music stems from the early age of six
when she discovered she had been gifted with the same
talent and prodigious voice of her mother, Doris Vergara.
While growing up, Jossie led the school band,
participated in musical events, church choirs and at
school and community festivals. Since then, she has
performed on many stages around Latin America
entertaining thousands of fans.
Jossie’s musical style is innovative and is
characterized by Latin rhythms, energy, sensuality and
an undistinguishable exotic voice. Her solid image and
sparkling career have allowed her to compose and create
music for her fans all over the world.
In 1994, Jossie brought her talent to the United State
where she furthered her studies in music, voice, dance,
choreography and acting at renowned music schools and
universities in New York, Miami and Atlanta. After
finishing her studies, Jossie had developed her own
unique musical style and produced an entertainment
showcase titled “Jossie Caliente” (Hot Jossie), which
toured throughout Europe and the United States.
In 2001, Jossie began producing her first original
musical release “A Mover el Esqueleto” (Move your Body),
which was released in 2003. “A Mover el Esqueleto” was
composed, co-arranged and produced by Jossie, which gave
her a profound meaning of the music industry. The CD was
a fusion of Cumbia and Salsa that left fans moving their
hips and dancing to every song. The U.S. launch of the
CD took place at Emilio Estefan's renowned Bongos Cuban
Café in Miami, captivating a sold out audience.
In 2004, Jossie participated at the “La Raza Latin
Festival” in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she shared
the stage with Willy Chirino and Nestor Torres amongst
others to an audience of more than 10,000 fans. Jossie
was also the headliner act at the Miss America Latina
beauty pageant, an international beauty contest held in
the Dominican Republic.
In 2005, Jossie turned her attention to starting her own
musical publishing and production company and founded
Song Catcher Productions. Through Song Catcher
Productions Jossie composes, arranges, produces and
publishes her own music as well as the music of other
song writers and singers. Song Catcher Productions has
collaborated with many talented artists, musicians and
professionals like Chichi Peralta and Juan Luis Guerra’s
“Agrupación 440”.
Nada Normal, a Song Catcher Productions creation, is a
fusion of Latin flavors including high energy, pop,
reggaeton, hip-hop, and blues rhythms mixed with salsa
and cumbia undertones making the hit song, “Tequila y
Ron” (Tequila and Rum) the number one single playing in
Latin America and the U.S. It has become the most
requested single by fans in clubs in Colombia, Santo
Domingo, Puerto Rico, North Carolina and Miami.
Jossie also fuses her passion of music with helping
those in need around the world, fighting
poverty-stricken communities. She has performed at
various international telethons and charitable events
throughout Central America and the United States. She
has an unconditional love for helping children around
the world.
